The improvement methodology DMAIC is the abbreviation of the five phases it is divided into; Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. DMAIC is a very useful methodology for the organization that strives to become a learning organization. DMAIC is part of the Six Sigma business strategy framework and has been widely and successfully used since its introduction in the late 1980’s. The DMAIC framework applies several quantitative and statistical tools, well-defined performance metrics. It enables the study of the causes of variation and provides the opportunity to minimize the defect rate and thus, increase customer satisfaction.
